Year: 2022

Location: Castle district, Budapest, Hungary

Architects: Perényi Tamás, Andrei Durloi, Perényi Flóra, Kardos Orsolya

Landscape design: Weiszer Ádám - WeiszerLAB

The concept is based on four main elements: the connection between the planning area and its surroundings, the renewal of the green area, the construction of a new pavilion building and the design of a free staircase.

The primary principle of the plan is to break the separation between Trinity Square and the designated site. To this end, the plan removes the retaining walls of different heights and thus the boundary between the plot and the square. The difference in level between the square and the plot is resolved by a new long staircase and a gently sloping ramp connected to the surrounding street and square, making the park accessible without any obstacles. The plan proposes the creation of lenticular green spaces of varying sizes that can accommodate the valuable existing vegetation to be preserved and provide space for new grassed areas.
